Volkswagen Tiguan L PRO Mid/Low-Trim Projector Retrofit
A source-based reference for the pictured mid/low-trim Valeo headlamp, covering OEM light-source retention, non-common-negative wide-voltage wiring, the outer 3-inch projector bracket and inner matrix bracket.
Two Projector Positions with Different Fitment Rules
The outer and inner positions use different brackets and projector sizes. The high-spec and mid/low-trim lamps also have different exterior appearances, so configuration verification is mandatory.

Bracket, Wiring and Projector Selection Controls
Outer Bracket Options
The bracket retains factory-shroud mounting holes, but the source recommends removing the original shroud for a round projector and C-style cover.
Non-Common-Negative Wiring
Retain the OEM light source and use the specified non-common-negative wide-voltage harness.
Inner Matrix Height
Use the recommended compact matrix size; a standalone high beam needs the matching spacer to raise installation height.

Tiguan L PRO Mid/Low-Trim Retrofit FAQ
How can the mid/low-trim headlamp be distinguished from the high-spec version?
The source states that the high-spec and mid/low-trim lamps have different exterior appearances. Confirm the exact headlamp configuration before ordering.
Must the original light source be retained?
Yes. Article 1463 requires retaining the original light source and using a non-common-negative wide-voltage harness.
What projector fits the outer position?
The outer position accepts a 3-inch projector. Removing the factory shroud allows a round projector with a C-style decorative shroud.
Can the factory outer shroud be retained?
The bracket provides factory-shroud mounting points, but retaining it limits the installation to a square projector and the front of the factory shroud still requires cutting. The source recommends removal.
What projector is recommended for the inner high-beam position?
The tutorial uses a matrix projector and recommends a 1.5–1.7-inch unit to avoid blocking light.
What is required for a standalone inner high beam?
A separate high beam requires the matching matrix spacer to raise its installed height. Verify trim and optical clearance before final assembly.
Technical reference: Based on Royalin-supplied installation photography and article 1463 for the pictured 2026 Volkswagen Tiguan L PRO mid/low-trim Valeo headlamp. Verify trim level, projector sizes, shroud strategy, retained source and non-common-negative wiring before ordering.
