Volkswagen ID.3 3-Inch + Matrix Retrofit FAQ
Which ID.3 headlamp is covered?
The supplied reference covers the pictured 2021–2023 Volkswagen ID.3 mid/low-spec headlamp. Confirm the lamp label, front signature and internal reflector layout before ordering.
Which projectors are used in this kit?
The reference shows one 3-inch projector position together with universal 1.5–1.8-inch matrix projectors on each vehicle-specific bracket assembly.
Does the headlamp need to be opened?
Yes. The pictured unit uses factory Valeo cold sealant and the reflector bowl must be removed for bracket installation.
What must be verified in the beam wiring?
Verify low-beam positive and negative signals and use a wide-voltage input for the high-beam positive and negative connections. The photographed high-beam signal is approximately 8.7 volts.
Can the factory light source be retained?
The source provides a specific optional layout when retaining the factory light source. Confirm clearance against the bracket and projector bodies before final assembly.
Is trim-panel cutting required?
Yes. After removing the trim panel, cut only the locally marked area so it does not interfere with the upper part of the 3-inch projector.
